It is annual conference time again and I am getting my gear set up. I am thinking about what to take. Last year’s smart choice for me was my kindle. I read about 3 books or so thought the duration of the conference. I also did some work on upcoming sermon series graphics.
This year I am excited because there is going to be voting for deligates to general and jurisdictional conferences. BUT, we are doing it with electronic voting devices (think voting for america’s funniest home video). I am more than a bit worries that the technology might get in the way and we will have to revote a number of times. I am packing to be productive during the downtime.
I want to know what are some of the essentials that you always bring to Annual Conference.

My phone (so I can have twitter and facebook feed), my phone charger, my Bible, and a heart for transformation of Church and world.
true and there is nothing better than a little ziplock of kettle corn when the debates begin to heat up.
We bring the mini crock pot and cook some of our own food!
Sherie I think that is great. Mike and I talked about how expensive the food is and it is much easier to bring/make your own if you have any kind of dietary preferences or allergies.
Sarah Dorrance: My brand new stole, never worn-hand made by the congregation I serve that will be placed on me Friday night at ordination!
So cool Sarah. One of the best things about stoles is that they all seem to tell a story. I was given a ton of ties for my ordination as and elder, old guy according to some. And as such need to start dressing the part. I just got back a stole that was made from all of the ties and it is awesome. I am saving it to beak out on a special Sunday.
