Exploring everyday theology through family fun and ministry.

If you have stumbled upon this patchwork I call my blog, I hope that you find something that peeks your curiosity. This is a collection of thoughts, experiences and encounters about whose I am in the story that God had placed me within. I have been blessed with an amazing wife Katie who is a pastor too, and a daughter, Eden, who is simply a delight. They remind me everyday what it is to be loved. I have dreams about this being a place that can be a resource for youth workers, young people and others to catch a glimpse of how this pastor views living life in light of the conspiracy of grace that has been given to us. Enjoy

YM Game Gold Mine

I can only imagine how this show came to be be.  I would like to think that some guy was sitting around his mother’s basement thinking about all of the dumb games that he played in youth group when he was a middle/high school student and said, “People would watch this.” I have seen video [...]

Under the cap of a Snapple Green Tea that I had today my fun fact was: Six-year-olds laugh an average of 300 times a day. Adults only laugh 15 to 100 times a day. I couldn’t help think about how our joy is stolen.  What takes our laughs?  Are our lives more boring or are [...]

Worship as a gateway

Worship as a gateway

How are we going to teach the faith and traditions of the church to our young poeple? How are we going to  share the mysery and wonder with the next generation? How can we lay the foundation for a spiritual life that will last a life time in? I can’t help but think that worship [...]

how does your faith operate

I have had a number of conversations with a couple of different groups throughout this past week and a half and there is a common thread throughout a number of the conversations. I think that the disconnect is a problem of perspective.  Do you live out your faith so that you are can gain the [...]
